Our
Acceptance
Speech
In this rather fresh and new world of blogsphere old media tends to
criticize Weblogs as amateurish. Text with this award calls attention
to our achievement in journalism citing our efforts in meeting the
highest standards and principles of the Society of Professional
Journalists. In reality creation of this website must take in the
"our factor" because of the technological aspects of this World Wide
Web gift to humankind.
While the text, the written word, and subject matter is old school and
attributed to a newly-minted 50-year-member of the Society (known in
1956 as SDX, Sigma Delta Chi), editorial associates credited judgments
made on the graphics of the website. Therefore, credit the graphics
continuity to Philip Vaughn, Vaughn Graphics, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
The graphics, with music, have been described as "selly." One newspaper
editor described the Vaughn graphics as giving "voice" to the website.
Reflecting on the content and intent of this website, I trust it has shelf life.
